A Sibling in Always edition by Ernest Gordon Taulbee Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I was captivated by the fast moving storyline. Tried to put it down, but could leave it alone. A must read for those who enjoy masterful storytelling.
Fascinating ! I really had to exercise my mind to follow this riveting story..
I've always had a morbidly curious side, so this story grabbed my attention from the moment I read the jacket. This is one of those stories that grabs you, and doesn't let you go for a long time after you've finished it. It's a contradiction in a way an absolute page-turner that's not always easy to read. After a while, you'll begin to read the pre-chapter poems with a sense of intrigue and foreboding. Obviously not one to shy away from difficult topics, Taulbee masterfully leaves the reader glad it's over yet wanting more.
A Sibling In Always is an ambitious and complicated book that I found appealing on many levels. With complicated characters and a pace that sometimes moves along fast and at times slows down to allow the reader to assimilate what has already occurred it is outside of the general expectation of a modern-day novel, but I enjoyed it all the more because of this. If you’re tired of the same-old same-old then I’d say this is the book for you.

This was the first book I’ve read by Taulbee, but I’m a fan now and deciding which of his other books to read next.
This book makes me sad for two reasons the content and the fact that no one is going to read it.

The content is a melee of death and confusion. It is a complicated puzzle that puts a picture together. When you finally finish it you step back and realize that a tragedy has occurred. People have lost everything. You have beauty, because beauty is never more honest that when it takes something precious from you and refuses to give it back. That is what this book does. The poetry hints at what is going to happen in the chapters, and Dr. Ellsworth's letters cut deep, exposing something that just may be profound. I recommend taking breaks during the last few parts. They are intense. Once you finish the book and realize who Horace is and what he has done and is doing, you'll stare into space for an hour or two and try to decide if you are really living.

To Mr Taulbee, wow, sir, way to think it through. Way to actually produce something that is not a film treatment and actually pursues the written word as a work of art.

Here's the deal, however, no one is going to read your book. They are not going to read it for one reason. It's really good. It requires patience and it demands the reader not expect to be entertained on every damn page.

People want stories about sparking vampires and gray ties. They don't want a book that is going to make them ask questions about who they are. That is the kind of book this, and the time when people wanted that type of book has passed. My apologies to the author, but you were born in the wrong time.

Maybe people will read this book once the author is dead. It would be apropos if it worked out that way.
I thought it might not be my kind of book, but I couldn't quit reading it. Only thing I didn't like, at all, was some of the language. Wish he would write a book and leave out the bad words!
I loved It! Hard to put down and it was very well written. Full of detail which I love! I thought it was great.
This is a good read for anyone who enjoys a good story. I went to school with the author and I've always been impressed by his writing. Give it a try.
